My background
What got me into art? I guess for myself it all started as a child with coloring books and playing with colors. it’s the first place I think we all start, and for many, the place we stop. As for myself this was the case, yet, at the same time I still always was drawn to art. I remember my first art experience like it was yesterday. It was that first taste of lust towards an object, much as that first attraction to the opposite sex. Nothing can draw your attention more than that which appeals to it. And from that moment forward my attention was drawn to that creative connection that can come to consume one’s life. Always drawn to that memory of your first love. It wasn’t until I moved out on my own and realized I needed some of that love on my own bare walls, never was really to sell, as much as was to enjoy. And that has now led me to the moment where I am ready to share it with the world. Douglas Gandecki
My medium
What is my medium? Well really anything to tell you tell you the truth. It could be an old trailer that I rebuild, or even the building of a piece of furniture I may need. You see creativity knows no bounds. At least my creativity knows no bounds that’s for sure. I apply it to everything I make and everything that presents itself as a problem to myself. In fact problems no longer exist only creative solutions. And when you gain enough wisdom and knowledge in life, it gets to a point where solving problems becomes mundane. Douglas Gandecki
My inspiration
What are my inspirations? Well this could be a book in itself. The birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees. the endless possibilities that each day can be. The love and joy, the sorrow and the pain. The rare and the multitudes, the genuine I am sure. Generosity and kindness over misery and greed. knowledge and wisdom is the key, ignorance and ego is not what should be. Co-operation builds strong walls, where selfishness crumbles them to the ground. Creativity that inner compelling feeling of wanting to create that which does not exist. To behold and enjoy, this is why inspiration exists. And is every bit the reason I create. Douglas Gandecki
